How NumOcaine Works

Lignocaine hydrochloride works by blocking nerve impulse transmission. It does this by affecting sodium ion permeability in nerve cell membranes. As a result, the site of ring application is rapidly desensitised within minutes. It also targets the acute ischemic pain that occurs up to 45 minutes after ring application — the period when discomfort is most severe.

Quick Change Cartridge — Fast, Safe, Tube-Free

The pre-attached QCC eliminates tubing entirely. Simply give the orange cap a quarter twist, then push down to broach. Next, twist the bottle onto your Numnuts device. To prime, open the tool lightly and press the plunger 2–3 times until the fluid chamber fills. No mess, no fuss — ready for the next lamb in seconds. Additionally, the QCC acts as tamper security, ensuring you’re always using genuine NumOcaine. It also limits access to the anaesthetic when not attached to a Numnuts device.

No Refrigeration Required

NumOcaine is temperature stable at 30°C. So there’s no cold chain, no cool packs, and no fridge required. Simply store at room temperature and protect from light. As a result, it’s shelf-stable for 24 months from manufacture. Furthermore, NumOcaine is validated by CSIRO and developed with Meat & Livestock Australia and Australian Wool Innovation.
