What Farmco Recommends It For:
We recommend this 80mm brass swing check valve for farm water lines where you need to stop water flowing backwards. It’s ideal on pump outlets, bore lines, tank feeds and irrigation mains. If you want to protect your pump and keep your lines primed, this valve does the job.
Why It’s a Farmco Favourite:
It’s a simple, tough valve with very few moving parts to wear out. Solid brass construction stands up to Aussie conditions and resists corrosion for years of reliable service. The large 3″ bore keeps water moving freely, so you get backflow protection without choking your supply.
How a Brass Swing Check Valve Works
Inside the valve, a hinged disc swings open when water flows forward and swings shut when the flow stops or reverses. That stops water draining back down your line, which keeps pumps primed and prevents water hammer from damaging your system. Because the disc swings fully clear of the flow path, the valve causes minimal pressure loss, which matters on long farm runs.
Built Tough From Brass
Brass handles both bore and mains water well and resists rust far better than steel fittings. This brass swing check valve holds up to sun, heat and regular use, so it suits above-ground pump sheds and exposed pipework alike.
Big Flow for Big Jobs
The 80mm (3″) size suits high-volume systems such as transfer pumps, irrigation lines and large stock water mains. The threaded ends make it easy to connect into your existing pipework.
Installation Tips
Install the valve with the flow arrow pointing in the direction of water flow. Fit it in a horizontal line, or a vertical line with upward flow, so the disc can close properly.
