Product Overview

Coopers Flexolt is the world’s first oral sheep lice treatment, delivering systemic lice control from inside the animal rather than through external wool application.

Because Flexolt works internally, it remains effective regardless of wool length, weather conditions, shearing schedule, or mob composition. Producers can treat sheep at any time of year without waiting for ideal shearing conditions or dry weather windows.

What Makes Flexolt Different

Oral Dosing – Works From Inside Any Wool Length

Flexolt is administered using a standard drench gun, eliminating the need for specialised applicator equipment. Treatment efficacy remains consistent whether sheep are:

  • Off-shears
  • Short wool
  • Long wool
  • Unshorn lambs

Unlike pour-on and jetting products, wool length does not impact performance.

Unaffected by Rain

Rain before or after treatment does not compromise efficacy.

This is a major advantage over pour-on and jetting products where rainfall shortly after application can reduce treatment effectiveness.

Novel Mode of Action

Flexolt contains Fluralaner, an Isoxazoline active ingredient not used in any other Australian sheep lice treatment.

This makes it an effective rotation partner and highly effective against:

  • SP-resistant lice strains
  • IGR-resistant lice strains

The 8 Situations Where Flexolt Is the Right Choice

1. Long Wool Lice Outbreak

Treat sheep immediately after discovering lice in long wool without waiting months for shearing.

2. Introducing Purchased Stock

Treat rams, ewes, or weaners immediately off the truck regardless of wool length or shearing history.

3. Split Shearing Operations

Treat mobs with different wool lengths during a single treatment event.

4. Ewes With Lambs at Foot

Treat ewes and lambs together during one yard event. Lambs can be treated from 6 kg bodyweight.

5. Rainfall Delays

Treat sheep in any weather without rescheduling due to rain.

6. Poor Shearing Conditions

Missed cuts, wrinkles, or incomplete clip coverage do not affect treatment performance because delivery is oral rather than external.

7. Cold Weather Treatments

No wet fleeces, cold-water exposure, or hyperthermia risks during winter treatment programs.

8. Stud and Seedstock Operations

Treat sale rams or show sheep when it suits preparation schedules rather than shearing dates.

Staff Conversation Guide

When the customer says… You can say…
“It’s twice the price of Extinosad.” Flexolt can treat long wool sheep, lambs at foot, and can be used regardless of rain or shearing schedules.
“I’ll wait until shearing.” Delayed treatment can increase fleece derangement, wool rubbing damage, and production loss.
“I’ve purchased rams – can I use a cheaper product?” Flexolt can be used immediately regardless of wool length or shearing history.
“It’s a new product – has it been proven?” Fluralaner is the same active class used in Bravecto and has been extensively trialled in sheep.
