Designed for use with calf feeding buckets and feeders, this smart and practical intake elbow ensures full bottom suction and promotes stronger, more natural suckling behaviour in young calves.
This orange EXCAL teat intake elbow is fitted with a stop valve that helps regulate milk flow. The valve enhances suckling strength in calves that are either newborn or struggling to nurse effectively. By providing resistance, it encourages a stronger suckling response, helping calves feed more efficiently from the very start of life.
Designed for efficiency, the intake elbow fits directly into the back of the teat, allowing calves to draw milk from the very bottom of the bucket or feeder. This bottom suction reduces milk wastage and helps ensure a consistent flow throughout each feed. The elbow should be fitted with the arrow facing the teat end to function correctly.
While the valve enhances feeding, it may be susceptible to blockage if used with powder-mix milk or milk with fatty residue. In such cases, users may prefer the white non-valve elbow (EXCAL part no. 214763) or choose to remove the valve altogether.
