Advice On Use
• Abamectin is a broad-spectrum treatment which is highly effective against mature and immature worm parasites on
most Australian farms including against strains of Ostertagia resistant to ivermectin.
• The use of WSD ABAMECTIN, WSD ABAMECTIN PLUS SELENIUM or WSD LOW VOLUME ABAMECTIN is
particularly indicated in strategic programs to reduce contamination of pastures when the uptake of worm larvae is low.
• Consider using other WSD drenches, particularly WSD COMBINATION, if the objective is to treat a worm infestation
on pastures known to be moderately or heavily contaminated with worm larvae.
• Abamectin is NOT effective against tapeworms.
• The repeated use of any ML drench is likely to result in the emergence of resistance in worm parasites and therefore,
regular testing for efficacy is recommended.
